The underground public utility mapping concerns the localization (position, depth etc.) of water and gas pipelines, sewage system, electric and telephone cables, asphalt covered manholes and sewer covers by non destructive investigation techniques as S.P.R. Surface Penetrating Radar) and Hydroskope (galvanic, inductive and passive methods).
The utilities individuated and georeferenced can be presented on digital maps and entered in computerized data bases (G.I.S. environment) in order to optimise their efficiency and functionality.
For gas and water leakage localization, electroacusticCorrelation detection and infrared Thermography are used. Flow rate and volume measurements on underground pipelines are also executed. |
